Recently, many friends have asked me about my experience in caring for babies with allergies. I have come all the way, and I hope my experience can help more babies with allergies.

Common food allergens for babies are milk, eggs, seafood, etc. Allergy is a disease. If it is serious, you must go to a regular pediatric hospital for diagnosis and treatment. Allergies not only affect the stomach and skin, but also affect the respiratory tract and develop into asthma, which is very harmful. So you must pay attention. The methods I wrote are all effective methods for my baby, and may not be suitable for all babies.

In 2014, my daughter Xigua was born. From pregnancy to delivery, I simply passed five hurdles and defeated six generals (if you are interested, you can share it next time). That’s not all. On the third day after birth, eczema broke out on my head and eyebrows. At that time, we thought it was not serious. This condition is quite common in babies. During the confinement period, the baby had diarrhea five or six times a day. The doctor said that it was normal for the baby to have a lot of diarrhea, as long as he could eat and be energetic. At that time, the eczema on my face and neck was already very serious, and I kept applying the ointment prepared by the hospital, over and over again, and kept getting rid of it. More than a month ago, I once had a bowel movement twelve times a day, and bloodshot eyes came out. I realized the seriousness of the problem, so I took her to the hospital for a checkup, and it was confirmed that I had a food allergy.

Watermelon is breastfed and occasionally takes milk powder. After that time, I replaced the regular formula milk powder with amino acid milk powder. I also started to avoid food. Finally, the diarrhea was under control, and the eczema kept recurring. Six months later, when she started to add complementary foods, her allergies became serious again. She was allergic to milk, eggs, soybeans, tomatoes... and sometimes even white porridge, which manifested as diarrhea and eczema. I gave her appropriate dietary restrictions, took probiotics internally, and applied moisturizing lotion externally, and her diarrhea and eczema were all under control. After one year old, diarrhea is basically gone, and eczema occasionally occurs on the body, but it can be controlled with moisturizer.

I am very pleased that my Xigua is three and a half years old, 105cm tall and weighs 32 pounds. The children in the kindergarten all call her sister because she is tall, haha. Post the baby at the bottom of the article.

Let me share my methods and ways to fight allergies:

Feeding:

Breast milk : Watermelon breast milk until 2 years old. Before the age of 1, she mainly ate breast milk and not much milk powder. Because of her allergic reactions, I don’t drink milk, eat eggs, seafood, or anything else.Allergenic foods. Although breastfeeding is a better choice for babies with allergies, if you really have no milk or are too tired to feed, please be sure to let yourself go. We can also take milk powder.

Milk powder: The Newcomte amino acid formula milk powder that Xigua ate before he was 1 year old had a potato flavor and a bitter aftertaste. You won’t be allergic after eating it, and diarrhea and eczema will get better quickly. After I turned 1 year old, I switched to Nestlé SuperNen En partially hydrolyzed formula milk powder. The taste was okay and it was not difficult to accept. I did not suffer from allergies, diarrhea or eczema after eating it. Special reminder, if the baby's parents are allergic, the baby will have a high chance of allergies. It is recommended to drink breast milk for the first time after birth. If you need to supplement milk powder, please consider deeply hydrolyzed or partially hydrolyzed formula milk powder, which can be effective Reduce the chance of allergies.

Probiotics: Synbiotic probiotics. After one minute of eating, I started to vomit and have diarrhea, so I gave up decisively. Later, after reading the instructions, I discovered that the probiotics of Synbiotics contain milk powder. I would like to remind all parents that when feeding babies prone to allergies, you must read the instructions! Kangcuile's probiotics, recommended by Cui Yutao, are dairy-free. Long-term consumption can improve allergies. We have been taking them for more than half a year, and both diarrhea and eczema have improved a lot. Most of the probiotics on the market are milk-containing. Please read the instructions before purchasing. We strongly recommend Cortex.

Complementary food: Before one year old, complementary food was basically eaten for fun. If she had allergies, I would stop it for a few days and then try another food. Repeatedly over one year old. So be patient and don’t stop taking probiotics and lotion.

Family diet: After one year old, her diarrhea improved greatly and she could eat other foods except milk, eggs and seafood. After the age of two, she can eat all common foods without diarrhea. At first, the Deluxe organic pure milk I gave her did not cause diarrhea. Later, she drank Jindian organic milk and she vomited and had diarrhea within a minute. I decisively switched her to imported milk. Until now, when she is three and a half years old, she can drink it every day without diarrhea. The condition of eczema keeps recurring, but it’s not serious.

Kindergarten diet: After entering kindergarten, the variety of food became more abundant, which again induced her eczema. The Guangming milk provided by the school would also cause her to have diarrhea occasionally, but after she stopped, she rarely had diarrhea. As for the eczema, I’m still struggling with it.

Nursing type:

Fabric type: intimate clothing, quilts, etc. As long as the fabrics that come into contact with her skin must be pure cotton,Contains more than 95% cotton. Because eczema is very easy to relapse, chemical fiber materials are particularly likely to aggravate eczema. Pay special attention to your baby's socks. Many socks have very low cotton content. Be sure to ask before buying. There are also sofa towels. I specially bought cotton sheets to lay on the sofa.

Diapers and wet wipes: I have always used Nissan Kao diapers. After using them for a day, I got a lot of red bumps and it took three days to heal. I always use nuk wipes. Before each use, I wash them with warm water and wipe them again. This year I switched to Nissan Kao wipes, and the response has been very good.

Moisturizer: This is a big category. I have tried many kinds of moisturizers for her, including Aveeno's dark blue cap, eczema-specific light blue cap, and ordinary light blue Color cap 227g (unscented moisturizing lotion), lavender scented lotion, and a large package of 354ml. I have tried Mustela's Tosmin, both cream and ointment. There are also Seba from Germany, Dexeryl from France, Yumeijing and Yuze from China. Here’s the key point: the most effective one is Aveeno Ordinary Light Blue Cap 227g (unscented moisturizing lotion) which is effective after just one day of application, and the eczema will subside within three days. Everything else is invalid!

Lithospermum oil: I brewed this myself. It has a miraculous effect on burns and wounds. If I rub it on a small wound for a day, it will become a scab the next day. The brewing method is: go to the supermarket and buy a bottle of sesame oil, and buy 50-100g of comfrey in the drug store. Wash and dry the comfrey, find a clean glass bottle, put the comfrey into the sesame oil, seal it and store it. Baidu has various production methods. You must do this yourself. Lithospermum oil and comfrey ointment sold outside are ineffective! Lithospermum is poisonous, but talking about the effect without considering the dose and method of use is a hoax! Consuming comfrey in large doses can be damaging to the liver, and I don't think occasional topical use will have negative effects. When Xigua was about two years old, she had a scalded blister on her hand. She applied the burn ointment she bought at the drug store for three days but it didn't improve at all. Then she applied comfrey oil and the scab formed in one night, leaving no scar!

Cleansing and care: Benatine and Aveeno for shampoo are both good. It is not recommended for babies with eczema to use shower gel as it may aggravate the eczema. California Baby's bubble bath was a favorite when she was little, but when her eczema is severe, she can't take a bath because it will aggravate the eczema. When eczema is severe, use Aveeno's bath powder, or boil honeysuckle and soak it in water. We also recommend boiling honeysuckle water, which is economical, practical and effective!

The last key point: If the baby is found to have diarrhea and eczema, the main focus is to suspect food allergies, confirm food allergies, change milk powder, avoid breast milk, take probiotics, and apply lotion. The situation is serious, please go to the hospital. Please don’t use human flesh when posting pictures, thank you all, please spread the flowers~~

When I was two years old, I was fat and couldIt can be seen that the face and neck are smooth and there is no eczema

After I was three years old, I lost weight obviously, but my eczema has been under control. Not bad

My aunt asked for five pictures and she spent an hour looking for them
